Library Information Technology

Library Information Technology provides leadership in the strategic digital and physical environments, library systems and infrastructure, software development, and web publishing and design needs of the Robert E. Kennedy Library.

Strategic Digital Environments

The Kennedy Library is dedicated to innovation and IT leadership. Recognizing the rapid changes in our users’ research and computing needs, we continually update our facilities and services to serve all our users, bringing together smart technologies, collaborative learning spaces and expert assistance.

Formed in January 2004, our team consists of library systems and support, as well as programming and web development.

Library Systems and Support

The library systems and support team maintains PolyCAT, the online public access catalog to the university’s library holdings; delivers access to other library systems and resources such as online databases, electronic interlibrary loan, and electronic course reserves; and provides desktop support and maintenance for users, faculty and staff in the library.

Programming and Web Development

Behind the scenes are many integral applications that assist the library with information and content management. The Web Publishing group manages our Web sites, library portal channel, and supporting communication materials. This includes branding, communication strategy, design, content management, illustration and photography.
