Current Periodicals
Current Periodicals offers access to
- over 1,200 journals in print
- 4,053 online journals
- 60 newspapers
- comfortable reading and study space
Hours & Location
Located on the first floor next to the Reading Room, Current Periodicals offers the same extended hours as the Reading Room. For current library hours, please see the Library Hours page.
Past Issues of Journals and Newspapers
Past issues of journals and newspapers are archived in different ways. Some are bound and placed into the main book collection, some are replaced with microfilm and housed in the Reference Department, and some are withdrawn. Consult PolyCat to determine which issues are in Current Periodicals and which are archived or withdrawn.
Policies
Periodicals and newspapers are restricted to use in the Current Periodicals Reading area and the Reading Room. The library does not circulate this printed collection so that current periodical literature is always available for those seeking up-to-date information. Several copiers are located in these rooms for use by patrons.
Past issues that are bound are placed in the main book collection according to their call number. These bound volumes may be checked out by patrons for 4 days.
Course materials may be checked out but to ensure fair access for all patrons, fines greater than those for the main circulating collection will be assessed for overdue items.
