Image Databases through the Kennedy Library
WorldImages Kiosk
Images are selected for their quality and/or research value. Allows you to browse by topic as well as search. However, images aren't generally high resolution.
AP Photo Archive
This database provides access to Associated Press media photos, which is unique in that they offer context — images tend to show spaces being used by people, and provide a caption describing the image. Images are not particularly high resolution. This database includes both extremely current and historical images.
ARTstor
This is a major image database for the fine arts.
JSTOR
This is actually an article database, but it has an image search feature. To use it, search in "Image Caption" (use drop-down box). If you find interesting results, have a look at the article itself as well — it may be of use to you in your assignment. All articles in JSTOR are available online as pdf files (click Download).
MRC Image Collections
The Hay Media Resource Center has a collection of digital images that you can search from within the library. Ask Vickie Aubourg in the MRC for assistance.
