Collection Development
The Collection Development Department manages, develops, and preserves resources in all formats that support teaching, learning, research and classroom activity for Cal Poly's undergraduate polytechnic curriculum. Collection Development also builds collections supporting the advanced information needs of students, faculty and the scholarly community.
College librarians and teaching faculty work with Collection Development to acquire and withdraw materials in the library’s collections. Each academic department has a designated faculty representative appointed to work with the relevant college librarian and Collection Development to consult on collection issues.
An updated list of departmental representatives and librarian representatives is available here. If you are interested in serving as your department’s liaison, please contact your college librarian or call Collection Development at 756-1484.
